Challenge IV Day 27/Wrap Up

Assessment

Day 27 (Tues) - A pretty good day. Miracle Morning, breakfast with my wife, Toastmasters, workout at DEFY!, TM officers meeting, and a fair amount of loose ends cleaned up.

Challenge IV Wrap Up

I did some good things with this challenge. Let's focus on them first.

- 22 days of The Miracle Morning - getting up, getting active, thinking right, reading, journaling.
- overall weight loss of, well 3.8 pounds, from 216 to 212.2 this morning, or 10 if you count my highest weight this time around. Beats gaining weight, or staying the same by a long shot.
- 5 speeches, including two outside of a regular club environment
- 1 new keynote client
- secured a physical trainer and new gym
- created a couple promo videos
- wrote one whole blog post outside of this blog
- planned my new podcast
- read 170 pages in the Mandela biography, and several graphic novels
- spent a ton of time with my kids - who all start back at school next week
- spent a fair amount of focus time with Kristi
- got news first that Rachel may need chemo, then, two days ago, got more optimistic, but not for certain news, that she may not. MRI in three months.
- got news that Bailey is still stable with HER brain tumor
- saw a lot of movies - I mean a TON of movies - many with kids, some with just Kristi.

Now - for what DIDN'T happen:
- didn't hit goal of 200 lbs, or even revised goal of 208.
- didn't work out as often as I hoped
- didn't get website, podcast, or newsletter going at all
- didn't blog as I'd intended
- didn't speak or schedule speaking at the rate I should have
- and the Big Hairy Audacious Goal of writing Speak & Deliver? Didn't even TOUCH it.

After four of these challenges, it would be easy to get a little down at how little I've accomplished. At how poorly I've built a following for it - though I bet I'd get a better following if I had better results.

At the same time, I have to celebrate when I look back at all I HAVE done, maintaining an overall positive mental attitude through some of the tougher incidents, whether it be going overtime in a contest or finding out my daughter may have tumors that need chemotherapy.

I'll never quit - I'll Win Anyway. Assess, Adjust, and Act.

I hope you'll join me starting on Monday, August 17, 2015 with Challenge V. I'll be working on making this one an interactive challenge, with some rewards for those that get involved. And...a return to video posts, and maybe even the use of Periscope!
