Challenge Part V - Day 16 & 17 - Ups & Downs

Assessment - Days 16 & 17 of 27 (Fri-Sat)
All my joy from reaching 207 on Thurs/Friday was stolen from me on Saturday, as the scale screamed 211 at me. I hadn't been bad - no sugar, just a few more chips than I should have had, perhaps. Sent me into a spiral - and yesterday was just a bad, bad day, even though I didn't give in to major eating behaviors (just a pork chop, a butterfingers, and some popcorn).

Neither Friday or Saturday were all that productive for me outside of the normal things such as coaching and parenting. The only major achievement was finishing the last 100 pages of Nelson Mandela's biography, when I decided that might be the only outcome I could control for the day yesterday.

I need to be honest with myself. The sugar cheat on Thursday killed me, particularly in combination with the overload on chips on Friday. Combine that with the certainty that I'm building muscle, my water intake, and my body probably hanging on to some fat since I'm not eating enough overall, and getting back to 211 is a reasonable result.

My weight goals for August, and possibly for my trip to New Mexico in October, may be out of reach. I'm letting it get in the way of other goals, too, by allowing my mental state to suffer. Items like my book aren't getting done.

Closing Comments

Life is just a roller coaster. Pretty sure I started the week feeling optimistic and powerful, and yesterday I was just depressed. Starting this morning, I'm feeling a bit angry, and primed for a comeback. And the knowledge I'm seeing Jurassic World tonight with Kristi (it's back in IMAX for the weekend at her theatre), and that I'm going to have one of her fantastic shakes (she is the barista babe for a reason), and some popcorn. Meanwhile, I have things to get done today, in a major way.
